FISCHERBACH

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Ortenaukreis (until 1973 Wolfach)

Fischerb.jpg

Official blazon

In Rot mit blau-silbernem (blau-weißem) Wolkenbord zwei schräggekreuzte goldene Fische.

Origin/meaning

The arms were proposed in 1903, but finally adopted by the municipality in 1960.

The arms are based on the 18th century seal of the village. The seal showed the above arms, but the fish were placed on a church. The later seals, from the early 19th century, did no longer show the church. The bordure is taken from the arms of the Dukes of Fürstenberg, who ruled the village for a long time. The two fish are a canting element.
