FILDERSTADT

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Esslingen
Additions : 1975 Bernhausen, Bonlanden auf der Fildern, Harthausen, Plattenhardt, Sielmingen

Wappen von Filderstadt

Official blazon

(de) Von Gold und Grün fünfmal geteilt.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 10, 1977.

The arms were devised in 1977 after the merger of the 5 different municipalities. The arms are derived from the arms of the Lords of Bernhausen, who became extinct in 1865. The family played a major role in the history of all the villages and was thus suitable as a common symbol.
