Origin/meaning

The oldest known seal of Feuerbach dates from 1720 and shows a fire onder a crown. The fire is obviously a canting symbol (Feuer).
Feuerbach received city rank in 1907 and new arms were necessary. The old name of the town, which is known since 1229, was Biberbach. The new arms thus show in the upper left corner a canting beaver (Biber). The shield itself is divided according to the arms of the Lords of Frauenberg, who had named themselves after the castle in the municipality. The lower right part shows a wheel as a symbol for the industry in the city.
