Origin/meaning

The arms show a canting Esse, or fireplace. The symbol appears for the first time on the 17th century seal of the town. All later seals show the same symbol, but the size and shape differs widely. The present arms were officially granted in 1948 in the colours or Württemberg and confirmed on March 12, 1979.
