D'azur à trois maillets d'argent ordonnés 2 et 1 au 1er quartier et à la montgolfière de gueules et d'or, la nacelle de pourpre au 2e quartier; à la champagne ondée d'une pièce convexe à dextre et d'une pièce concave à senestre, cousue de sinople, chargée d'une divise ondée de pourpre, elle-même chargée de trois poissons d'argent, le premier posé en bande, le second en fasce et le troisième versé en barre, et surmontée à dextre de deux gerbes de blé d'or.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 2010.

The colours refer to the green fields and the blue sky. The wavy bar refers to the Somme river. The arms also include elements of former Lords of Essigny-le-Petit; the hammers of the Mailly family, the garbs from the Chauvent family and the fish from the arms of the Macquerel family. The elements also refer to industry, agriculture and fisheries.

The hot-air balloon refers to the fact that a balloon landed in the village on September 23, 1894.
