Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 26, 1968.

The chief shows four oak leaves, one for each of the former rulers in the area; the Counts of Nassau-Saarbrücken, the Teutonic Order and the Wadgassen and Gräfinthal abbeys. The base shows an old sword, symbolizing the many archaeological finds in the village.
