ERMERSHAUSEN

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Hassberge
Additions : 1973 Birkenfeld, Dippach
Incorporated into : 1978-1994 Maroldsweisach

Wappen von Ermershausen

Official blazon

In Rot zwei goldene Schrägbalken überdeckt von einer schräg links gestellten schwarzen Glocke.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 5, 1994.

The red shield and golden bars is taken from the arms of the Lords von Hutten, who resided for many centuries at the Birkenfeld castle in the municipality.

The bell refers to the fact that Ermershausen is a separate parish since 1301. A large bell from 1575 is still present in the church. The black colour of the bell is taken from the arms of the Counts of Henneberg (who used a black rooster), Lords of Ermershausen from 1317-1548.
