Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 7, 1975.

The arms are a combination of the anchor, used by the village as shown below for more than a century. The meaning of the anchor is not known. In the arms the upper half shows the lion of the Counts of Pfalz-Zweibrücken, who ruled the village for a long time.

Before 1975 the municipality used the arms below, which were never officially granted:
