EITORF

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Sieg Kreis

Wappen von Eitorf/Arms (crest) of Eitorf
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 17, 1934.

The right part of the arms shows the lion of Berg, as the area belonged historically to Berg, and three acorns, as a canting symbol (former Eichdorp=oak-village). This combination was already seen on the oldest seals of the town, known since 1580.

The left part of the arms shows the local church, which dated from the 14th century, but was destroyed in the Second World War.
