EISENHÜTTENSTADT

State : Brandenburg
District (Kreis) : Oder-Spree
Additions : 1961 Fürstenberg/Oder (1950 Schönfliess); 1993 Diehlo

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1973.

Eisenhüttenstadt was founded in the 1950s as an industrial city, based on iron factories. The arms thus show an apartment building and an iron factory with furnaces. The base shows the Oder river on which the city is situated. The wavy blue line forms a pigeon, the symbol of peace.
