Origin/meaning
Eichstetten became an important town in the early 15th century in the struggle for power between the Dukes of Austria and the Counts of Hachberg. The town started to use seals in the late 15th century and the oldest seals already showed the present arms. The arms show the bend of Baden (to which the County of Hachberg belonged) and a canting oak branch (Eiche=oak).
