German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

EBENSHAUSEN

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Wartburgkreis

Wappen von Ebenshausen

Official blazon

(de) Im silbernen Schild eine grüne Linde über ei nem blauen Wellenschildfuß, der mit einem silbernen Sparren belegt ist.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 9, 1997.

The linden tree is chosen as a symbol for the village, as most of the trees in the village are linden trees. The wavy division line symbolises the Werra river in the municipality. The chevron in the base symbolises the new bridge over the Werra, and at the same time is a canting element for the second part of the name (a chevron for a house, Haus).
