DUGNY

Département : Seine-Saint-Denis

Blason de Dugny

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The first and fourth quarter show the French royal arms, taken from the Royal Abbey of St. Denis, to which the area historically belonged. The nail is the symbol for the Holy Cross and symbolises the pilgrimage to the Holy Land by King Saint Louis in the 13th century. The other two quarters refer to the cultivation and milling of wheat, for which the village was well known.
