Origin/meaning

The city was situated at the border of the Imperial forest of Dreieich, and already in the 13th century the village received several rights, but complete city rights were granted in 1718 by Count Wolfgang Ernst zu Isenburg. The oldest seal, known since 1635, already shows the canting oak (Eich) with three (drei) acorns. All later seals show the same image, but the oak was not placed on a shield.

At the end of the 19th century the oak was placed in a shield and the colours were determined. The arms, however, were not officially granted until 1956.

Wappen von Dreieichenhain/Coat of arms (crest) of Dreieichenhain

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
