In Blau auf grünem Boden, von roten, mit silbernem Rauch endenden Flammen umgeben ein goldener Kessel, darin der heilige Vitus mit goldenem Nimbus.
Origin/meaning :
The arms were adopted in 1902.
The arms show the local patron saint, St. Vitus, in a kettle being cooked. The oldest known seal of the village is known since 1811, but probably dates from around 1800. It already shows the same image as above. Several sources indicate the the village had its own seal already in the 17th century, as on several occasions a local seal is mentioned. On the other hand, from the same time there are also documents in which the local authorities sealed with their own seals, as the village was not supposed to have one. In any case there is no known image of any seal older as from 1811.During the 19th century the village used two seals with the same composition. In 1902 the State Archives added the colours and proposed the composition as arms for the village, which was accepted by the council.
