Official blazon

Azure, a representation of the Southern Cross argent, on a chief embattled argent, a fleur-de-lis azure.

Origin/meaning

The fleur-de-lys is a sign of Mary. The battlements are a sign of protection and help, and also symbolise Castle Hill. The Southern Cross symbolises Australian Christians.

The arms were adopted in 1984. Until 2017 the fleur-de-lys was red, only with the accession of Bishop Harris it was changed to blue.
