In Rot ein silberner Schrägbalken, der mit einer roten heraldischen Rose mit goldenen Butzen belegt ist.
The oldest seal of the city dates from the early 15th century and shows a rose and the letter D. The rose probably is derived from the arms of the medieval Lords of Riedenburg. The second seal, known since 1480, shows already the above arms. Why the bend was chosen in the arms is not known. The arms have not changed since, although the bend was sometimes shown as a bend sinister.
