In neunmal von Silber und Blau geteiltem Schilde, belegt mit goldengekröntem, doppelschweifigem, rotem Löwen ein silberner Schildfuß mit schrägliegendem, rotem Bischofsstab mit Krümme nach unten, über silbernen Wellen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 4, 1967.

The lion and the bars is the arms of Luxembourg, as the are historically was part of the Duchy of Luxembourg. The lower half refers to the local patron saint, St. Willibrordus.
