Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on ??-??-1991.

The first quarter shows the arm of the family De Belcier, former lords of the village. The second and third quarters refer to agriculture and viticulture.

In the fourth quarter the cross symbolizes the intersection of four communication routes: to Bordeaux, Cognac-Pons, Royan and Talmont, the scallops refer to the passage of the pilgrims for St James to Santiago de Compostela and the bezants refer to trade.

On the whole, the arms of the De Coettivy family, the oldest known lords.
