"In sinopel een golvende schuinbalk van zilver en een doorsneden schildhoofd, boven van azuur, onder van goud. Het schild gedekt met een gouden kroon van drie bladeren en twee paarlen."

De balk is afkomstig uit het wapen van Westdongeradeel, het schildhoofd is het symbool voor een zeewerend waterschap.
