Arms (crest) of Constantia Valley

Official blazon

  • Wapen: In silwer, 'n swart adelaar met uitgespreide vleuels, op die bors belaai met 'n goue sandloper, dwarsbalksgewys; 'n rooi gewelvormig geknobbelde skildhoof.
  • Helmteken: 'n Rooi muurkroon, swart gemessel, met 'n halwe uitkomende silwer hert, gewei en hoewe van goud, swart gevleuel. Dekklede: Rooi en silwer.

  • Arms: Argent, an eagle displayed Sable, charged on the breast with a hour glass in fess Or; a chief nowy gabled Gules.
  • Crest: Issuant from a mural crown Gules, masoned Sable, a demi-stag Argent, attired and unguled Or, winged Sable. Mantling: Gules and Argent.

The arms were granted on April 26, 1993.

The main division on the shield is derived from the typical Dutch Cape gables, which can be seen on many of the older houses in the valley. I have no information on the other elements of these arms.
