CLUGIN

Canton : Graubünden
Incorporated into: 2009 Andeer

Wappen von Clugin/Arms (crest) of Clugin

Official blazon

  • (de) In Silber schwarze Bogenbrücke, überhöht von gestürztem steinbockhorn mit Hornwurzel.

Origin/meaning

The arms refer to the Panigida family, which had a number of possessions in the village and played a major role in its history. Their arms were a black stone bridge on a silver field. The ibex horn was added and refers to the Diocese of Chur (a black ibex on silver) , as the family performed a number of church functions for the diocese as early as 1400.
