Origin/meaning
The sword depicts the area's considerable contribution to war efforts, The crosses represent the early Portuguese explorer's activities in the area, whereas the annulets represent the old tribal symbols. The wavy blue lines represent the Sinoia Caves. Th crest shows a tamed chained impala, the pick symbolises mining and the helmet and ramparts a town.
