Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a shield shaped embroidered device arched at the top, 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height by 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width overall, consisting of a field blazoned: Argent, a sword in pale, hilt to base Sable entwined by a stylized comet, its contrail Gray garnished Gules issuing from sinister base and terminating in sinister chief, all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) border of the last. Attached above the shield, a Gray scroll inscribed “CARTHAGE” in Black letters within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Red border.
Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Quartered Gules and Gray, issuing from dexter base a comet contrail of the like, garnished of the first and orbiting to sinister and terminating in dexter chief behind a winged torch of the like, enflamant. All behind and in base a Red extended scroll inscribed “NULLI SECUNDUS” in base metal letters.
Origin/meaning
Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Red and gray are the school’s colors. The comet is the school’s mascot.
Shoulder Loop Insignia: Red and gray are the school’s colors. The comet is the school’s mascot. The torch and olive leaves are symbolic of the knowledge and education required of the cadets and reflects their involvement in school, community and country. The motto “Nulli Secundus” translates to “Second to None.”
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved on 1 December 2005.
