CARRARA

Region : Toscana
Province : Massa e Carrara

Stemma di Carrara/Arms (crest) of Carrara
Official blazon
Italian

D’azzurro alla ruota d’oro, caricata sul cerchio della scritta in nero “Fortitudo mea in rota”.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms od Carrara show a wheel. The wheel most likely is chosen as a symbol for the city, due to the transport of marble from the quarries in the mountains to the sea. This was done for ages by chariots. The letters in the wheel form the motto "Fortitude mea in rota" meaning, "My strength is in the wheel".
