Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on August 2nd, 1973.
The arms are canting, cajobi, in the local Indian language, means green mountain. The fleur-de-lis in the chief is the symbol of St. Mary, patron saint of the city. The two crosses evoke the first prayer of the settlers in the exact place where the church is now, and the erection of a wooden cross at the same place. The two dates in the motto show the settlement, 1901, and the granting of city status, 1926.
The shield is surrounded by coffee and orange branches, the main agricultural crops in the area.
