Arms (crest) of Bunbury

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on 25 September 1959.

The three masted ship, in full sail denotes the Port of Bunbury through which the products and requirements of the hinterlands are exported and imported.
The sheaf of wheat illustrates the wheat growing areas of the hinterland.
The axe and pick represent the timber and mining industry in the South West Region.
The potato bush illustrates the potato growing in the hinterland.

The crest shows a swan in pride, wings elevated bears on its outer wing the constellation of the South Cross. The swan is the symbol of Western Australia.

The Latin motto "Nihil Sine Labore" can be translated as "Nothing without Labour".
