The arms show a canting beech tree (Buche). The old 18<sup>th</sup> century seal of the village already showed the beech with the fox. The fox is a canting symbol for the Counts of Voss-Buch, who built an estate near the village in 1676 and lived there for 222 years. Voss is the local dialect for Fuchs, or fox.
