BREINUM

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Hildesheim(until 1978 Alfeld)
Incorporated into : 1974 Bad Salzdetfurth

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 2, 1938.

The arms show a judge under a tree, holding a document and a golden staff. The arms refer to the medieval courtplace near the village of Breinum. As no historical seals or arms were known, this fact was chosen as a symbol in 1938. The realistic symbolism was typical of the heraldry of the time.
