Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 15, 1956.

The arms of Brebach reminds of the Halbergerhütte iron facory in the village. The factory was founded in 1756 by Prince Wilhelm Heinrich von Nassau-Saarbrücken and improved by the Lords of Stumm-Halberg. The colours and the billets are taken from the arms of Nassau, the hammer and iron-bucket represent the iron works.
