Brandeh.jpg

Official blazon

In Rot die silberne Hörnerkirchener Kirche, begleitet in den Oberecken von zwei abgewendeten goldenen Jagdhörnern mit dem Mundstück nach oben.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 30, 1978.

The arms are canting for Hörnerkirchen, two horns and a church (Kirche). The church is shown as the local Hörnekirchen church. The church was founded in 1749 and the neighbouring hamlet of Brande was incorporated into the new parish. The horns are also a symbol for the shepherds that wandered through the municipality for many centuries. They used the horns to signal each other. The colours of the arms are the colours of Holstein.
