Origin/meaning

These arms are based on those of the Family (later Dukes) de Rohan, which originated from the the village of Rohan and became one of the most influential families in Brittany. Bréhan was one of their historical possessions. To differentiate the arms from other arms with the Rohan arms (f.e. Pontivy), the number of mascles was reduced to 3.

Literature: Froger and Pressensé, 1999.
