Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 3, 1970.

The arms are base don a seal known from 1730. The lion most likely is the lion ofthe Pfalz, the wavy bar symbolises the Blies river. The arms and colours were designed in the 1930s by Otto Hupp, but they were not officially granted until 1970.
