In Gold ein silber geharnischter Ritter mit einem geschlossenen gotischen Helm vor auf einem Stück grünen Boden stehend. Origin/meaningThe arms date from the 15th century and show a knight holding a small shield with the arms of the Hohnstein family, the crest also shows the deer antlers of the family. The arms thus indicate that the town was a possession of the Counts von Hohnstein. The Counts held the hunting rights (crest) and were the judges in the town (sword). Only in the 16th century the town received city rights and thus also its own court. There is also a legend on the history of the arms:
