Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 3, 1964.

The arms of Bischmisheim show in the base a cross, taken from the arms of the Counts of Saarbrücken-Commercy, which ruled the village for a long period of time. It also symbolises the village church. The cog wheel is taken from the arms of the Amt Brebach, to which the village belonged. The wheat ears symbolise the agriculture in the municipality. The division line symbolises the higher altitude of the village between the Grumbachtal and the Tiefelstal valleys and the Scheidterberg and Breitenberg mountains.
