Origin/meaning

The oak leaves in the upper part of the arms are taken from the crest of the Lords von Bippen. The dolmen in the base represents the prehistoric grave (hun-bed, Hünengrab) in the municipality and represents the longtime inhabitation. The oak leaves and the green part of the shield also represent the forests in the municipality.
