Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted on February 22, 1985.

The cross is derived from the arms of the Lellig family medieval Lords of Betzdorf. Unfortunately the colours of these arms are not known. The blue lion is derived from the arms of the Barons of Pouilly, who were Lords of Betzdorf in the 15th century. The colours of the first and fourth quarter were thus adjusted to the colours of the Puilly arms.

The main part of the municipality historically belonged to the prévosts of Grevenmacher. The key is thus derived from the arms of Grevenmacher.
