Blason de Bergerac (Dordogne)

Official blason

Parti: au 1er d'azur à trois fleurs de lis d'or rangées en pal (semé de fleurs de lis d'or), au 2e de gueules au dragon d'or.

Origin/meaning

The current arms were adopted in 1995 and replaced the field semy of fleur-de-lys with three fleur-de-lys en pal. The fleur-de-lys refer to the French Royal arms, as the city had royal privileges since 1322. The composition also appeared on the seal from 1322.

The dragon refers to a local legend.
