BERG

Armoiries de Berg (Luxembourg)

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1989.

The eagle is taken from the arms of the oldest Lords of Berg. In the 17th and 18th century the lords of Berg were of the Heisgen famiky, who used 5 trefoils as their arms.

In the 19th century the village became a possession of the King of the Netherlands (at the time also Grand-Duke of Luxembourg) and this is represented in the royal crown in the colours of Nassau.
