Escudo de Bellprat

Official blazon

Escut caironat: de gules, un lleopard lleonat coronat d'or; el peu de sinople sostenint una faixa d'or. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 27, 2000.

The crowned golden lion passant guardant on gules are the arms of the counts of Queralt, the landlords of the village. Also, the arms are canting: the lion is over a green meadow embellished with gold; this is derived from the name itself: Bellprat meaning literally "beautiful meadow" in Catalan.
