Escut caironat partit: 1r. d'argent, un castell obert de sable sostingut sobre un mar en forma de peu d'atzur carregat de 2 faixes ondades d'argent; 2n. d'or, 4 pals de gules. Per timbre una corona mural de vila.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 3, 1993.

The arms show the castle of Begur on the sea (the town is a seaside tourist centre in the Costa Brava) and the royal arms of Catalonia-Aragon (the four gules pales on gold), because Begur was under royal jurisdiction.
