Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 30, 1964.

Until the 15th century the village was ruled as a condominium by the Flach von Schwarzenberg family and the Teutonic Order of Einsiedel. The arms show the golden bar of the Flach von Schwarzenberg family and the cross of the Teutonic Order. The lion's head is taken from the arms of the Pfalz, as in the 15th century the village became a possession of the Dukes of the Pfalz-Zweibrücken.
