Blason de Barville (Vosges)

Official blazon

D’or à la bande de gueules chargée de trois fleurs de lys d’argent.

Origin/meaning

The arms are derived from the arms of the Lords of Châtelet, to whom the village historically belonged and who had their ancestral small castle (châtelet) in the area. The arms are in turn based on the arms of Lorraine, as the family belonged to the higher nobility in Lorraine.
