Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 19, 1973.

The arms are based on the seal of the Amt Baesweiler from 1556. The upper part shows the lion of Jülich, as the Amt was part of the Duchy of Jülich. The origin of the arrows is not known.
