Origin/meaning

The arms show the horse of the arms of the Lords of Gemmingen, who bought the village in 1592 and held it until 1806.

The arms were granted in 1901 and based on the old village seal. In 1957 the colours were changed, as the former colours were not according the heraldic rule of tincture.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
