Origin/meaning

Baborow was founded in 1296 by Czech knight Bavor from Strakonice. The first name of the town was Bavorov.

The arms display two women on the yellow background. These are the Virgin Mary and Saint Elizabeth, the local patron sainrts. The arms were granted in the 17th century.
