Origin/meaning

The arms show a Lippizaner horse, a famous breed which is partially bred at the Karađorđevo stables, near the town. Below the horse the representation of the Danube river. The horse holds a scythe for the agricultural character of the region.

The municipality of Bačka Palanka was founded by the merger of Stara Palanka, Nova Palanka and Nemačka Palanka and each of these is represented by a symbol in the other half of the arms. The bordure with the seven golden coins symbolises the richness of the municipality.

The banners are the flag of Serbia and of the city.
