AURLAND

Province : [{Vestland]] (until 2020 Sogn og Fjordane)

Arms (crest) of Aurland

Official blazon

På blå grunn eit avrive sølv geitebukkhovud.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 22, 1987.

The arms show a goat's head. The area is well known for its goat cheeses and goat farming. A goat was thus considered an appropriate symbol for the municipality.
