Arms (crest) of Augustenborg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1966.

The two lances are the symbol for the long local tradition of 'ring-riding', in which a rider tries to lift a small ring from a rope using his lance. The horses symbolise the horse-breeding station founded at the Augustenborg castle in 1820.
