Origin/meaning

The above arms were proposed in 1994 and are derived from the arms of the Abbey of Auchy-lès-Hesdin, founded in the 7^th century by the Counts of Hesdin. The arms of the Abbey were in the 12th or 13^th century based on the arms of the counts of Hesdin. The village developed around the abbey.

I have no idea whether the village actually adopted these arms.
